On The Yaw landing…
I landed a few hours ago and I’m in Kigali. I’ll write more once I get settled in and recovered from the 24 hour flight….

Don’t have time for a full post. I’ve been fixing bugs with medical forms all day, and I’m wrapping up so I can pack my stuff and chill for a few hours before I fly out. I’ll be in the air for about 24 hours but arrive in Rwanda on Saturday afternoon. Will try to post then…

Made some changes to the SVN version of OpenMRS (alpha branch and form entry module) to better support my OS X build.
Haven’t checked in changes but basically there is some application logic that looks for OS X and changes how commands (jar, lcab, cabextract) and where it stores the OpenMRS files (~/.OpenMRS). Thanks to a broken darwinports server, lcab had to be installed manually (/usr/local/bin/lcab) and cabextract has to be installed in darwinports (/opt/local/bin/cabextract). Either way, the code looks for the binaries in /usr/local/bin/. I’ll be documenting this fact soon.

Finally moved out of my apartment, packed up my stuff (which was a bit over the limit) and flew into Boston on the red eye. Landed at 7am and the lack of sleep from the last two days and the jet lag didn’t hit until 10am. managed to man up and sat through a lecture on the background of PIH as an organization and some of the socio {economic, political} reasons for Haiti’s current situation.
I spent the rest of the day getting openMRS to work on my mac. at this stage, I have it installed and made some changes to the code base to make it more Mac friendly. Going to try to get a module running tonight and once that’s going I can crash and be adjusted to Boston time tomorrow.
